Advisory Council

The Advisory Council is a circle of trusted leaders, pastors, professionals, and friends of Cornerstone who come alongside the Board and Head of School with prayer, counsel, and practical support. Members help keep Cornerstone rooted in the Gospel and connected to the broader Christian community in Gainesville and beyond.

  • Brings professional and ministry expertise to specific initiatives
  • Helps connect Cornerstone to churches, businesses, and community partners

Specific tasks include making introductions, participating in communication efforts, attending our amazing fundraising events, and making a personal commitment to support the Cornerstone mission. Expectations of Advisory Council Members

Advisory Council members are invited because of their walk with Christ, alignment with Cornerstone’s mission, and capacity to encourage and support the work of the school.

  • Attend at least one meeting per month. This may include in-person or virtual gatherings focused on prayer, updates from the Head of School, and strategic discussion.
  • Help with fundraising. Advisory members use their networks, creativity, and influence to introduce new friends to Cornerstone, host or support events, and champion the school’s financial needs.
  • Advocate for Cornerstone in the community. Members speak well of the school, invite others to learn more, and serve as ambassadors in their churches, workplaces, and spheres of influence.

Advisory Council members do not carry fiduciary responsibility like trustees, but they play a vital role in prayer, encouragement, and expanding the circle of support around Cornerstone Academy.
